October 2010

October 1, 2010

New socks. It’s like Christmas morning when I can slip on a new pair of socks. Love it!

October 2, 2010

If I had a dime for every time our power has gone out on completely gorgeous days, I’d have a LOT of dimes. We see this energy truck more often than we like to.

October 3, 2010

JJ playing in the sandbox in the school yard. Creating, imagining. I hope she never out grows it.

3

October 4, 2010

Enjoying the warm weather in the backyard while it lasts!

4

October 5, 2010

JJ finally gathered enough courage to try riding her “big girl” bike! No more tricycle, only the big wheels from here on out!

5

October 6, 2010

The weather was incredibly warm for BB’s field trip to White Butte. We enjoyed an amazing nature walk, complete with running down several hills and discovering little treasures at every turn!

October 7, 2010

TJ, you have just a little too much of your father in you. Or maybe, just enough Winking smile

October 8, 2010

Spending quality time with cousins and uncles and aunts is such an amazing way to spend the day. Especially when the cousins are as fun as these ones!

8

October 9, 2010

It had been SO long since the 8 of us have all been together for a photo. I have an amazing family and we love being together. We were so happy to spend the day celebrating my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary!

October 10, 2010

The only thing better than spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt, is spending time with their dogs. Say “woof!”

10

October 11, 2010

Cinnamon Bun Pancakes. Major yummo. Even more major when this recipe gets spotlighted on HowDoesShe! Major yum and major comments! Nice!

11

October 12, 2010

Using carrot greens is ONE way to wash a bike.

October 13, 2010

Welcoming in autumn with a field trip with JJ’s pre-k class to pumpkin hollow. I think I smell a little pumpkin pie!!

13

October 14, 2010

Parent-Teacher Interviews have always been such a positive experience with our girls. They are amazing students, and they have equally amazing teachers. How lucky are they?

14

October 15, 2010

New hair cut! Short, sassy, fun…. love it.

15

October 16, 2010

I am totally in love with this gorgeous pillow project I made at our Enrichment Super Saturday! I don’t make many home decor projects because I don’t feel like I’ve got a taste for style, so when I saw this class being offered, taught by Nicole Yawney, I just had to sign up!

16

October 17, 2010

Our impromptu ward potluck was a HUGE success. We even had to set up extra tables. I truly love our congregation…each and every member.

17

October 18, 2010

After making some adorable little “Countdown to Christmas” blocks, I had the brainstorm to make these Halloween ones. I guess I’m on a home decor roll!

18

October 19, 2010

TJ took the camera on her field trip and snapped this fun shot of her teacher. TJ is growing up so quickly before my eyes. I see glimpses of the young woman in her and it both excites and frightens me!

19

October 20, 2010

Mrs. Nolan is such an amazing music teacher. Knowing how interested in Musical Theater my girls are, she invited them out to see The Sound Of Music at a local theater with her. The girls felt so special. I know this is something they will remember always.

20

October 21, 2010

B enjoying a blizzard from her night out with TJ and Mrs. Nolan. The sparkle is still there in her eye from the night before.

21

October 22, 2010

It’s official, the geese are leaving in droves. It must mean that winter is on it’s way!

22

October 23, 2010

Our stake really outdid themselves with this year’s anniversary ball. The dancing was fun, but the food? Phenomenal!

23

October 24, 2010

Our good friends, the Williams, braved the wind and rain to take some pics. We are so blessed with so many amazing friends here.

24

October 25, 2010

A Family Home Evening outing turned sour when BB bumped her head into the van door and needed stiches. Thankfully, it happened in the parking lot near a clinic, so it was sewn up quick. She was such a brave little munchkin!

25

October 26, 2010

JJ enjoyed the first real snow fall of the season! It almost always happens the week of Halloween, and today was no different!

26

October 27, 2010

TJ loves our guinea pigs and spends a lot of time holding and cuddling them. She even had me arrange a time to bring them in to show her class at school. I also showed them to Brynae’s class and Jayda’s class.

27

October 28, 2010

I think JJ was born wearing a dress. She may get dressed in jeans and a T-shirt when she gets out of  bed, but it’s not long before she has one of her big sister’s dresses on over top.

28

October 29, 2010

Black and Orange never looked so good! Baylie and TJ each won a prize for their black and orange outfits.

29

October 30, 2010

What do a witch, a white queen, a black cat, and Alice have in common? They are the cutest creatures around, that’s what! We had a wonderful day enjoying halloween games and activities, and doing a trunk or treat.

30

October 31, 2010

It only happens once every 7 or 8 years, but Halloween night landed on Sunday. The girls, who stayed in to keep the Sabbath Day holy, couldn’t help but watch the trick or treaters out the window as they went from door to door. I hope someday they will understand the significance of the Sabbath, and why it is kept separate and sacred from other days.
